The Northern Territory First Home Owner Grant
The Northern Territory Government has made it easier for first time buyers to get on the property ladder with the Northern Territory First Home Owner Grant (NT FHOG). The grant is a sum of money paid by the state government to eligible candidates who purchase or build a new home in the Territory.
How much is the NT FHOG?
A $26,000 grant is available to eligible first home buyers who enter into a contract to construct or purchase a new home.
To satisfy as 'new', the house must not have been lived in or sold.
Who is eligible for the NT FHOG?
- Applicants must be over 18
- At least one applicant must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia
- Applicants must not have received a first home buyer's grant in any other state in Australia
- At least one applicant must occupy the residence for a continuous period of at least 6 months within 12 months of the contract completion date
